Celebrating Our Volunteers – National Volunteer Week
To all our volunteers in the LaSalle-Windsor Special Olympics community—thank you! During National Volunteer Week, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the dedication you bring to everything you do. It is because of your efforts that LWSO succeeds and grows every year.
Your impact is felt in every athlete’s achievement and every event’s success. Quite simply, we couldn’t do this without you—and we’re so grateful you chose to be part of this team.
"Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless" (Sherry Anderson)
Thank you for sharing your time.

The 2026 Polar Plunge is officially in the books — what a night it was!
This year’s event took place on Friday, February 27th, at the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre, where energy was high, and spirits were even higher. Leading the charge was the world-famous Polar Brrrs — a team of 17 fearless coaches and athletes proudly representing LWSO Swimming. Their enthusiasm, courage, and team pride made this an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance.
While final numbers are still being tallied, we are thrilled to share that $67,214 has already been raised — an incredible show of community support. Our LWSO Polar Brrrs raised a phenomenal $5,120, the second-highest total of any team. Well done Brrrs!
To everyone who donated, cheered, volunteered, or took the plunge: thank you. Your generosity makes a real difference, and we couldn’t do this without you.
