The Swim Team wraps-up the season
The Swim Team wraps-up the season
What a way to dive into the finish line! Our final session was a celebration of everything our athletes achieved this year. Here’s a look at the highlights:
The season wrapped with high-energy, laughter-filled relays! Swimmers cheered each other on, proving that teamwork is just as important as speed.
Below is a slideshow highlighting our athletes' successes in Brantford
Coaches, families, and swimmers all came together to enjoy a celebration cupcake cake. It was the perfect "sweet note" to end on.
From those first swims to smashing personal bests, this year was all about growth and community. Thank you to the volunteers, families, and swimmers who made it happen.
We’re counting down the days until next season—see you at the pool!

Strong Team Behind the Scenes
Thank you to coaches Cynthia, Rosa, Lisa, Dave, and Brian, and to Xay for officiating support—your leadership makes it all possible.
On Saturday, February 21st, we proudly hosted our 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament in support of LaSalle-Windsor Special Olympics — and what an incredible success it was!
The event was completely sold out, and the Columbian Centre in McGregor was buzzing with energy as competitors, volunteers, and supporters came together for a fun-filled day of friendly competition and community spirit.
We are so grateful to everyone who attended, cheered, and supported the event. A special thank you as well to those who couldn’t be there in person but still took part through our raffles — your generosity truly made a difference.
Because of you, this event was not only a great time but a meaningful step in supporting our amazing athletes. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!

Freezin for a Reason!
The second annual Polar Plunge in LaSalle was a cold one — but that didn’t stop the excitement. More than 100 brave participants dove into an icy pool in support of Special Olympics Ontario at this community event hosted by LaSalle Police Service.
Thanks to the dedication of plungers and the generosity of community supporters, almost $43,000 have been raised. These funds help provide programming and events for local athletes right here in LaSalle and Windsor and across Ontario.
LaSalle Mayor Crystal Meloche led by example, taking the first plunge for the second year in a row. She shared how proud she is to support such an important cause, highlighting the spirit of inclusion and the commitment to ensuring Special Olympics athletes have every opportunity.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the plunge, donated, volunteered, and cheered from the sidelines. Your support continues to make a lasting impact.
ScareHouse
In January, members of the Halloween Scarehouse visited Windsor Police Headquarters to present an incredible $8,000 cheque to the LaSalle-Windsor Special Olympics team!
These funds were raised during the Scarehouse’s popular “Lights-On” event last October, proudly supported by the Windsor Police Service Community Services team.
We are sincerely grateful to the Halloween Scarehouse, WPS Community Services, and everyone who attended and contributed. Your generosity and community spirit continue to make a meaningful impact in supporting our local athletes and the programs they love.
Powerlifting
Strength, determination, and incredible teamwork were on full display at the competition held on December 7, 2025, in London, Ontario!
